Job Description

OVERVIEW

• The candidate will monitor and adjust various treatment processes to ensure compliance with all permits and regulatory agencies. The operator performs preventative maintenance on equipment as per the operations and maintenance manuals for the contracted facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate and maintain various pieces of sludge equipment to load, transport and apply sludge.
• Maintain and repair pumps and pump motors.
• Assist in maintenance and repair of other mechanical equipment such as valves, clarifier and screen house systems, and chlorination equipment.
• Assists in the operation of equipment such as pumps, bar screens, clarifiers, digestors, sludge pumps, aerators, chlorinators, and control panels.
• Make readings and recordings of temperature, electric meters, weather conditions, and quantity of sludge removed.
• Check operating equipment for malfunctions.
• Performs general maintenance required to keep working areas safe, clean and neat.

REQUIREMENTS

• Hands-on experience in servicing and maintaining water and wastewater treatment systems
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
• Customer-focused mindset and ability to maintain strong relationships
