Our client is a leader in engineering solutions, committed to expanding their traffic practice across South Carolina. They seek a driven Senior Traffic Engineer who is eager to lead, innovate, and contribute to both technical and business development efforts.Position Summary:
The Senior Traffic Engineer will be a pivotal technical leader, responsible for directing traffic engineering initiatives and engaging in business development, including proposal writing and market expansion. The role involves managing and designing various traffic-related projects while maintaining and fostering client relationships.Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop the traffic practice throughout South Carolina.
• Manage and design a wide array of traffic projects, including but not limited to traffic signal plans, signing and pavement marking, crash analysis, planning, and analysis.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, government agencies, and stakeholders.
• Serve as a mentor, overseeing and developing the skills of junior staff.
• Engage in strategic planning with office managers and practice leaders for market growth.
• Oversee budget management and resource allocation within the region/department.
• Conduct interviews, hire staff, and conduct performance reviews.Business Development:
• Establish and expand market presence in South Carolina through proactive marketing activities.
• Lead and contribute to producing compelling proposals to secure new business opportunities.Nonessential Functions:
• Perform other related duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:
• Extensive experience in traffic engineering, including traffic studies, design, and project management.
• Strong client relationship-building skills.
• Proven ability to manage staff and coordinate projects effectively.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.Preferred Qualifications:
• Established client relationships in the region.
