We have a part-time, benefits-eligible opening for a pharmacist to deliver quality and cost-effective drug therapy to our patient community. Our pharmacists provide pharmacotherapy care for patients, monitor drug therapy, coordinate drug distribution and ensure medication safety, in coordination with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers.

MN Pharmacy License. Knowledge of pharmacology therapy and practice, ability to manage and exercise sound independent judgment, good problem-solving skills, knowledge of federal, state and local laws, ability to interact with medical staff, ability to communicate effectively. Understand and follow safety procedures to ensure medication safety. Demonstrate functional knowledge of emergency plans and utilize proper infection control techniques. Participate in continuous quality improvement efforts.

Prefer previous hospital pharmacy experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Oversees work of pharmacy technicians

2. Prepares and dispenses medications

3. Maintains accurate and appropriate patient profiles

4. Educates patients about their drug therapy when indicated

5. Assesses patient specific populations and determines appropriateness of drug therapy, including monitoring patients' response to therapy.

6. Works cooperatively with care providers and medical staff to optimize patients' drug therapy.

7. Analyzes drug-related problems and develops methods and procedures to resolve.

8. Adheres to ethical standards of pharmacy practice and all rules and regulations that guide the practice of pharmacy

9. Researches and provides drug information to medical and patient care staff as needed

10. Serve on committees, teams and/or workgroups as requested by Pharmacy Manager/Supervisor

11. Perform all other related duties as assigned

License/Registration/Certification Required:
  1. Current licensure with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy, or eligible to obtain licensure.
  2. ACLS
    1. Newly hired staff has 18 months from start date to complete
Experience and Skills:
  1. Hospital experience preferred
  2. PharmD degree preferred
  3. Strong verbal and written communication skills preferred
