Job Summary:

A maintenance mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing, and monitoring industrial processing and production machinery. Maintenance mechanic ensures that the manufacturing plant is running safely and efficiently by conducting routine and emergency maintenance for machinery. They are required to comply with all safety rules and regulations.

Job: Maintenance Tech

Location: Macedonia, OH

Wage: $27-30 per hour

Direct Hire Position

Essential Functions:

· Maintain a positive work environment by cooperating with management and coworkers.

· Responsible for maintaining and fixing all production equipment within plant facility.

· Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.

· Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.

· Follows instructions on how to fix and build corrugated machinery.

· Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.

· Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.

· Lubricates and cleans parts.

· Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.

· Repairs electrical equipment.

· Performs all preventative maintenance on machinery following a set preventative maintenance (PM) schedule.

· Starts devices to test their performance.

· Must attend mandatory weekly and monthly meetings.

· Responsible for writing up employees for safety warnings and concerns.

· Able to work with contractors and make purchasing decisions.

· Able to handle different tasks at the same time.

· Responsible for housekeeping functions within maintenance shop and work areas.

· Implement all safety procedures during shift.

· Comply with all company work instructions, policies, procedures, and safety policies.

· Performs all other duties as assigned by higher management.

Education and/ or Experience:

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

· Preferred six to eight months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills:

· Basic reading and writing skills.

· General math skills: adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, whole numbers and fractions.

· Must be able to read tape measure.

· Able to identify instructions and fix corrugated machinery.

· Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems.

· Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices.

· Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
