Controls Engineer – Siemens PLC Developer and Commissioning – USA

TMC USA is seeking a Controls Engineer with strong experience in Siemens PLC programming, particularly with TIA Portal, to join our growing team. You’ll play a key role in the development and commissioning of conveyor systems and material handling solutions. This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in startup-phase projects — you’ll be hands-on in development, testing, and on-site commissioning as we bring new systems to life.

Candidates must be a permanent resident in the USA or have a valid working permit for the USA (TN visas are acceptable).

| What do we expect from you?

Responsibilities:

• Program and configure Siemens PLCs and HMIs using TIA Portal.
• Develop control logic and automation sequences for conveyor systems and related equipment.
• Participate in software testing and simulation during development phases.
• Support onsite commissioning, system tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and project engineering.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including I/O lists and control narratives.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Siemens TIA Portal programming.
• Solid understanding of PLC logic, HMI design, and industrial networks (e.g., Profinet, Ethernet/IP)
• Background in material handling, conveyor systems, or automated warehouses preferred.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and work closely with panel builders/designers.
• Willingness to travel for system commissioning and support.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
