Modern Business, an Authorized Haworth Dealer, has an immediate opening in the Augusta, GA office for an entry level, or experienced commercial interior designer. We are looking for an artistic, detail-oriented candidates with good interpersonal skills for the position of Interior Designer. The Interior Designer’s key responsibilities include visualizing and sketching design plans as per client goals, sourcing products and materials, while determining costs and inspecting construction to ensure alignment with design specifications are met.

Job Type: Full-time, Commercial Interior Designer

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from an accredited four-year program
• AutoCAD proficiency is required
• Proficiency in Project Matrix, Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat is a plus.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Problem solving skills, attention to detail, team player and self- starter.
• Must be able to multi-task, proficiently and accurately provide pricing quotations and drawings, while working under time constraints.
• Knowledge of government and state contracts is a plus
• Knowledge of commercial furniture, current architectural and construction practices, relevant building codes, and accessibility standards is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Sales Team in the layout, design, and space plan of commercial furniture.
• Work with customers and designers to develop a comprehensive furniture package including floor plans, furniture selections, and finish presentations.
• Participation in client meetings.
• Responding to commercial and government bid packages alongside the sales team.
• Provides on-site job inspections including field measurements, installation drawings, and punch list reviews.
• Assist with installation coordination, final project walk thru for punch list and provides follow-up support with internal staff for the customer.
